Last night, I dined at the feet of wisdom. I had a conversation that few are privy to. For the sake of their privacy, I shall not name names. But the story is representative of many women, worldwide.
Recently it was said by Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) that Fox News host Bill O’Reilly “needs to go to jail” following a report that O’Reilly and 21st Century Fox had paid $13 million as part of settlement agreements to coworkers and guests on O’Reilly’s show who had accused him of sexual harassment and other inappropriate behavior.
The first sexual harassment decision was handed down in 1976. But it wasn’t until the 1991 confirmation
hearings of Justice Clarence Thomas that the concept entered national consciousness.
Right now, a young woman is in the biggest fight of her life to date. She is fighting for her creative freedom, independence from her alleged rapist and her financial autonomy.
Coming forward to report sexual harassment in the workplace could be one of the worst decisions that a women ever makes in her life.
